Time to have a new bench built

It's time for a new bench. I haven't had my area setup since we moved and now I have an entire 'extra' room just for my junk.

I want a large bench, something around 3x10 and maybe 6 or 7' high shelving on the backside

I'm thinking a lazy susan shelf with a blind back would be cool for storing die sets


I talked with the vocational teacher and he's all for building it. Seemed kind of excited even at the prospect of building a utilitarian project instead of pretty stuff for once.

All I'll be out is the cost of lumber.


But, I have to provide pictures and rough measurements. I can't find pics of anything lazy susan-esque.

I'd also like to pick brains on anything I may be overlooking.

On the left side of the bench, I'll have the load-all setup, with storage for shot under the bench.

The first press to the right of that and about 3' away or so, will be a JR3 or I may upgrade it to a RC, not sure yet. Next to that will be another single stage for my daughter to build her pistol loads and .30-30 rounds.

I've got 3 scales I use and two powder measures, 3 or 4 tricklers.

I used to hang the shellholders on a little shelf made from two pieces of 1x4, a small base and about a 5" wall with fininshing nails in it to hang them on. I'd like something better and the vocation shop can build whatever I can dream up and provide a sketch or pics too. But I'm terrible at sketching/drawing. I was doodling last night trying to draw a nose and wound up with a measure beaker.

Loose dies, I have a few for specific reasons(decappers, M Dies, etc...) I could store them in cases with the die sets, but with my .30-06 dies, I have a couple of different sets for different rifles and having that die readily available with other loose dies would be nice.



Just looking for ideas as to what someone else would have on their bench that I don't already have in mind, and any pictures that may help me transfer my idea into the teacher's brain

I bought the Work Bench form Harbor Freight. They are very decent and inexpensive. You can put 2 progressive reloaders on them, and they come with drawers , and a bottom storage shelf.

I use basically the same bench from Home Depot with a few modifications. All my presses are mounted on 12"X12" 3/4 plywood with holes near the corners and matching holes with captive nuts in the bench top for easy change out. I mounted mine on 3/4 inch plywood for a more secure base and attached it to the wall with lag bolts.

design it your self, google pictures and have one custom built, labor usually runs as much as material or more.
