What is the deal with H4350?

Trying to find some for my 6.5 creedmoor and it is out of stock everywhere. Anyone know of a source where I can get some? Would be willing to buy an 8lb jug if I can find it.

The deal is a P.O.S. named Obama. H-4350 has been tough to get since 2008.

I scored 8pounds from a buddy for my Creedmoor's But surely there is at least ONE powder which will duplicate H4350???

I think the new Reloder 16 might be the real deal.
I am just beginning to play with it but looks quite good.
Just shot some this morning. 1944 O3A3 30-06 Springfield shot 10 rounds at 650 yards while waiting for another rifle barrel to cool. Elevation was good on all but wind spread'em out.... Well that and open sights and 61 year old eyes. Anyway considering LC military brass I thought these numbers were decent.
Oh the load was 55gr RL16 loaded with 175gr Sierra MKT's
I did load some 140AMax with the RL16 in the 6.5 Creed but my rifle is with my son in New Mexico so I let Derrick shoot them and he said great groups but it was a moderate load as I have no data to go by so speeds were 2700fps I believe.

I have found AA2700 to be very similar. In fact in my 260 i switched to AA2700. I only use H4350 in a 220 swift shooting 80's.

Luckily I've been able to find enough H4350 to last me through my barrel. Next time I'm thinking about a rifle build I'm not going to buy a single thing until I have enough powder for the life of barrel. I'm not going to do the H4350 treasure hunt again.

I have at least 15 lbs of H4350. Did not have any trouble getting it last year.

Best bet lately has been the gun shows get there early

H414 is very comparable. It is a spherical (Ball) powder with a burn rate very close to H4350. I bought a jug for use in a 260 when H4350 was unobtainable. It is more temperature sensitive than H4350, but less so than Alliant's RL powders I have tried (RL 15 and 22). H414 works well and has turned out to be very versatile. Best of all, it is available.

IMR 4451 was a solid replacement for me and was equally temp stable with low sd.

Good to hear. When I finish off my Hodgdon powders, these new IMR powders are on the list to try. Way better availability.

No problem. I ran it in 6mm Creedmoor but know several guys using it in 6.5 as well as the 2 common x47Lapua rounds all with good luck.

Also know a couple guys running the Varget comparable powder in things from 6mm brx/Dasher to 308 with same results.
