Remington 30-30 Managed Recoil Ammo

Being the owner of two lever guns, I decided to give this ammo a try after having good success in the past with Remington's .270 Managed Recoil Ammo. The performance reminded me of the results I noticed with the earlier loads. That is, ballastic performance out to 150 yards that is almost identical to standard loads, but with a much more comfortable recoil.

After seeing the results yesterday at the range, I went back to Walmart and bought the three remaining boxes that were left on the shelf. And at just $16.99 a box, it's a very economical round as well.

I can't think of a better "first deer rifle" for a kid than a 30-30 with this ammo.

Same experience in 308 with the 125 gn reduced recoil by Hornady. POI the same as with 150s at 100. Plus they are a delight to shoot.
Pretty sure they will be fine on anything native to Texas today.

My grandson shoots the .243 Win reduced recoil loads, doesn't flinch, and kills the heck out of any deer that crosses his line of sight at under 150 yards. I tried them in my .270 when they first came out and for our little CenTex deer, at ranges out to 150 yards, they were deadly. Being a reloader, I've found I can duplicate the MV's with a bit of experimentation and produce a nice, shooter-friendly load, in any caliber, for any member of the family that have been "recoil sensitive."

The fact that reloaders had been creating their "reduced recoil" loads for some time was one of the selling points that Remington used when it first offered their "Managed Recoil" ammo many years ago. They also touted a new, softer bullet with better expansion to create a lethal hit at slower velocities.

I wasn't sure if Remington's efforts would be a success, but the fact they have since been joined by several other manufacturers of reduced recoil ammo says the stuff is here to stay.

The only problem that I've encountered is telling the difference between the lower recoil and standard loads. While I'm sure the standard loads are a little heavier, the difference is not that detectable to me. You definitely want to store them separately.
