seatng ?

I am reloading a 22hp (Savage cal.) I have to seat the bullets fairly deep to chamber, is there any negatives..the 22hp brass has a fairly long neck.

So is it the .227 70gr Hornady bullet made for the 22HP? Its has a cannelure so seating to it should be good to go.

Just imagine it with a shorter neck and more bullet sticking out and run with it. If you wanted to, you could trim a quarter inch of case length and seat to the normal OAL. Think about it, and you'll realize why that long neck just doesn't matter.
