Do Lee handgun dies suk or is it just me?

Do Lee handgun dies suk or is it just me? - 05/28/16 03:52 PM

I have a Lee, taper crimp, 4 die set in .45 ACP. They just don't feel precise like my RCBS and Redding dies. they feel mushy??? I guess you get what you pay for, I tried to save a few $$.

I'm about to buy a set for .38/.357 will go back to RCBS or Redding.

Which do ya'll prefer for a carbide, handgun set?

I have more Lee handgun dies than the other brands combined. One thing I have done with all my Lee dies is replace the nut with a Hornady locking ring, saves a lot of setup time.

X2 on the Hornady Lock Rings.
I have them on everything.

I have 4 sets of Lee Pistol Dies that I use on a regular basis.
They do a great job.

I also have 3 sets of Rifle Dies.
My .223 Dies (Full Length) usually net under .002 T.I.R.

Buzzsaw, I have 9mm and 45acp in lee carbide and I have no problem making very accurate ammo with them. All my dies are Lee, 223, 22-250, 6.5cm and 308. I have not had any reason not to feel any problem with them. I've changed all my lock nuts out with Dillon's and and those I use on the Forster Co-Ax I use theirs. I wish Lee they would upgrade the nuts in the sets as that would improve them greatly.

I've never had any problems with Lee dies. I like them better than RCBS, but not quite as well as Dillon or Hornady. Then again, Lee is half the cost of the other two.

Been using Lee dies for years, both rifle and pistol. Have never had an issue with any of them. No difference in accuracy or reliability between them and my RCBS dies.

X2 on the Hornady locking rings.

Lee are my favorite. Load across 28 different cartridges, 10K+ rounds a year.

Hornady all the way here. Because I'm an American I made that choice all by myself. I wouldn't knock another brand unless it was an inferior product AND I had first hand experience to rely on. With that said use what works best for you. I'm with okie dokie.
