Best 6mm/.243 <70gr bullet for deer

Fixing to load up some hunting rounds for the 6 dasher but not sure what I want. Will be used for deer and hogs out 300yd. 1:14 twist so 70gr is max I can run efficiently. Been shooting 55 and 70 nosler ballistic tips at 3400-3600fps and they do great on predators but seems like they would expand to quick on deer. Any experience?

I would see if you can find a bonded partitioned or guilding metal bullet in that weight range unless your planning on neck/head shooting.

I agree, seems like every bullet I find is varmint or target labeled. Don't get me wrong I feel completely comfortable with neck/head shots and varmint bullets but I'd rather do it right.

V max used to do me right in 22250

I agree. Lots of people like the varmit bullets. I have used them I have had them work and I have never lost anything with them either. But in my experiences bullets that are intended for hunting with terminal performance in mind typically do a much better job, no matter how many people say they use v-max and never lost one.

I hear ya My 220 swift and vmax has killed more deer than all of my other rifles combined lol I think luck is out of the question by now.

I have good luck with the 85 gr Nosler Partitions in a 1 in 12 (1/4 MOA), give it a shot in the Dasher, the velocity may be enough to spin it. If you end up only shooting a varmit bullet: head, neck, or broadside. Don't do a quartering shoot through the shoulders.

This, or maybe the 80gr TTSX or 80gr Corelokt?

Good call for the bullet would give this one a try. I have used that bullet on deer and hogs from an 18 inch barreled 1:12 243 barrel and it worked quite well. Might have to push it pretty hard to get it to stabilize.

68gr Berger will be tough enough and is very accurate. I have shot thru 2 deer running them at 3000fps.
