Can anyone tell me what equipment I need for taking new 30-06 brass and resizing it for a 338-06? Thanks!

Run it up into a 338-06 die with LOTS of lube in the neck, and the expander ball should open up the case mouth. I'd recommend a Hornady die, since they have a tear drop shaped expander, and it makes necking up/down very easy. Going from .308 to .338 is .030", which is a fairly large step in one process. If you wanted to do it in 2 steps, you could get a .323"/8mm (8mm-06) die/expander and that will make it easier and smoother.

I resized a bunch of 308 into 338 Federal which is comparable. Easy greasy using my homemade spray lube.

I have done about 100 case from 30-06 to 338-06 Ai and like Chad said use lots of lube. I find that sizing die wax works
best for me. Go slow.

I would definitely anneal before upsizing if you have the ability. Imperial sizing wax is my go to case lube.

When necking up or down use new unfired brass.

Kmon, wouldn't annealing before necking up be just as good? If not, why?

I turn quite a few cases of fired brass from .308 to 7mm08 but I anneal first. But in this case i am necking down not up.
