How would 8208 do in .308 bolt action with 178 amax or 168 amax or even down to 150gr bullet? One has a 22" and other 24" barrel and both have 11.25 twist.

what would you suggest as a start point and preference on brass? This would be geared towards the 178 amax

Cheaper brass- LC
Middle of the road- Win, Hornady, FC
High end- Lapua (tops), Norma, Nosler

How much do you want to spend on brass, what quality do you want and how many reloads do you want to get?

I have a few hundred Winchester and some LC, nothing on the upper tier.

Hodgdon shows 39.0 start to 42.5 max. thinking maybe start 40.3 go up .2 to 41.0?

Go with the Win brass, and don't use your Win load in an LC case. The LC brass is thicker and heavier, and will show pressure since it has less internal case volume than the Win cases.

Thank you Chad, I have some RP also. Will set LC aside, maybe do some trading with it, it's all decapped and cleaned, SS tumbled but not resized or trimmed. Off to make more empty cases, back later.
