Light load for 7mm

I'll admit I really don't know alot about reloading/ballistics..having said that..I want to hunt varmits with my 7mm..what is the lightest load I can safely shoot? Thanks in advance..I shoot/kill everything I shoot at with Remington 150gr.corlokt..thanks in advance...

7mm what? Is it a 7mm08, 280, 7 mag, 7 wby mag, 7x57, 7mm wsm etc.

You can shoot any commercially available reduced load or lighter grain weight for you caliber.

What 7mm are you shooting. I would suggest you go over to Hodgdon site and look at their youth, reduced loads, and 120gr loads for a light load. Or were you looking for a very light bullet load. You will find both on Hodgdon site. Good Luck

MOW, I will assume that you are referring to the 7mm RemMag.

My favorite reduced load for that round is 50.0/IMR4320/130 gr Speer BTSP/2681 fps. Note that I'm using 4320, not the more-common 4350, a slower powder which has been accused of rare detonations with reduced loads in overbore cases.

I have also shot this load with success behind the same 130 Speer: 49.0/IMR4895 for 2656 fps. Accuracy is excellent, just a bit over 1 MOA.

I like the 4320 load better only because I have lots of the powder.....I still have around 12 lbs of the 22 lbs of 4320 I bought at an estate sale years ago. And in these days of acute shortages of Re-15 and Varget, it's good to have an ample supply of IMR4320, which gives a similar performance to the other two.
