FNAR Owners - 12/05/15 05:09 AM

So i finally got my fnar to drive tacks, which is less than .75" (net for 5 shot) for me. Day had a 8-10mph full value wind so not harsh conditions. Ended up being 45gr varget under 155 sierra palma.

Being that these are kinda pricey and not easiest to find what other 150gr pills have shot well?

On a side note i touched off the 70th thru 85th rounds and it seemed to finally break in and give me consistent sub .75" groups. Best group was just a hair under .4" (net) 3 shot group. Im guessing the chrome lined barrel added to my frustration. I was 1 more load combination away from selling this thing as i dont keep anything that wont shoot .75" or better at 100 with 5 shots.

I have a 16" light with a 1-4x. I think of mine as a 0-300 yard hammer. I don't have the accuracy requirements you do. I'm happy with 3 shot MOAish. With your accuracy requirements, you'll need match bullets and I don't know of any that will be materially less than Sierra.

You might keep an eye out for 155 NOSLER Custom Competition overruns on Shooters Pro Shop website.

Hi scott, sps is my best friend.

Yeah having a couple precision lr bolt rigs has spoiled me. It shot well before under moa, but wasnt consistently where i want to keep a gun in the safe. Now its consistently shooting very well, which im very pleased because i have been wanting to love this rifle.

SPS is my best friend too. As a result, Nosler is about 2/3 of my reloading bench.

Went back out and bumped up .3 gr and seated out just a hair more, using 150 nosler bt's and what do you know 4 groups of 3 shooting .389" (net avg).not to shabby. Im now loving this thing. So glad i chose this over the m1a.

I bought several bags of the recent 150 NBT with cannelure from SPS. I think the were $12.99 a bag. Shot really well out of my Savage 308. What scope are your using on your FNAR?
