still .22 shortage - 07/22/15 12:16 AM
i haven't bought a box of .22's here in Albuquerque in seven months. when I went home for a visit in Wisconsin they seem to be all over. walmart, cabelas and gander mountain had them. they didn't last long sometimes. if you went back in a couple of days after they ran out they were there again. I went to gander mountain a couple of times buying them. I did end up buying almost two thousand rounds in the three weeks I was there.

Cabelas was loaded with them last Sunday but they were a little pricey. $.10 per rd and up. Mostly match grade stuff this time.

Can anyone find any subsonic 22? Yeah cabelas was stocked up and had no limit on purchases, they probably still have em but may have a limit now

Re: still .22 shortage - 07/22/15 01:18 PM
Last time I was in Cabela's the limit on 22 ammo was 1200 rounds, limit on bulk packs that were over 1200 was one bulk pack.

all our stores have everything on the shelves, except 22 ammo of course.
A little pricy, but Gander Mtn Round Rock had lots of 1600 rd boxes on hand last week. CCI

Was it CCI Standard Velocity? That's my favorite, I always seem to see the hotter stuff.

Wideners has Standard Velocity in stock right now...42.95 per 500 would be a little over 9.00 a sleeve after shipping

Dicks sporting good at fire wheel mall in garland/Sachse had a bunch cci sub sonic with no limit. Also had several 500 round bricks of thunderbolt and some 555 blocks of Winchester. This was yesterday. Found some 280 rem federal fusion for 23 bucks a box after 20 % discount on all ammo except 22

Cabelas has the CCI Quiet on line, if you have one close, you can order and have it shipped to the store for free.
I've been getting plenty of .22 at Gander Mountain in Lewisville.CCI singer, velocitor, etc.

McKinney to Lewisville is $15 in gas for most of us. I still have enough but I just wonder when it'll run out (my stuff) because it's tougher to find now than during the frenzy.

Re: still .22 shortage - 07/27/15 06:28 PM
I have not seen any of the cheap bricks anywhere. I see many 300 and 325 boxes that are going for $29.99 or higher. And they are not flying off the shelf like they used to but are getting bought..
Anyone seeing the 500 or 525 boxes at or below $19.99?

Nope, about 22-24 is the best I can find.

Here's a good place to visit every once in a while. I find that they're pretty current with their updates.

Not up here.

Re: still .22 shortage - 07/28/15 03:22 AM
Not a good site at all. They have (4) CCI mini-mags in stock at $9 per 100 LIMIT 1. Not too bad until the cheapest shipping option is to go pick it up in person in Houston for $6 additional or ship Fed-Ex for $15 in State. NOT GOOD!

Cabelas had some 1000 round bricks Sunday for $59.99.

Well some of us don't live closer to any of those retailers than an hour so we have to make our treks worth while.

Check with Brad @ Bradford Ballistic's in Pilot Point. He's usually got bricks in at $27.95

I just put the address in Google maps and realized I've been there once before. It was several months ago....he had some CCI for a not so enticing price. I'll try again some day soon.

Re: still .22 shortage - 07/30/15 12:24 PM
Last time I was in there and he had some, he was selling for 35-40 something a brick. He may be a little lower now. Too much for me to pay for bulk. He is a good guy though and I have used him for some FFL transfers.
Now, if you want a good laugh on pricing go into the ACE hardware store next to him and take a right when you walk in. They sell ammo at stupid ridiculous prices. They were really laughable during the height of the panic.

Re: still .22 shortage - 07/31/15 03:13 AM
Worse than P&B in Whitesboro who took six months to realize then super jacked the prices?
I would have never thought to go in ACE but I have no reason to go to Pilot Point either unless they have good deals there. I resisted being specific about the prices because I cannot remember if he had .22WMR for $25 per 50 or .22LR for $17 per 100. It was one of the two (CCI).

Re: still .22 shortage - 08/02/15 04:40 PM
With Cabelas, depending on the particular 22 loading, you can often order 5 boxes of 50 per day shipped free to your nearest store, string a few days back to back and you can accumulate enough to make it worth the trip.

Re: still .22 shortage - 08/02/15 04:56 PM
I think they give you 30 days to pick it up. I've done that around Christmas when I know I'll be making the trip for gifts anyway.

I'm still looking for any 22 subsonic rounds. The cci quiet isn't the round I'm looking for. Cci makes a sub sonic 22 round not the quiet round. Remington makes some too. If anyone sees any subsonic 22 please post up or let me know

IL drive though. Looking for specifically labeled sub sonic 22 rounds not the quiet rounds

Re: still .22 shortage - 08/04/15 04:05 PM
CCI Standard is a good subsonic ammo. Wolf Match Target also. You'll have to go online, order, and wait.
How many rounds you looking for? Have a need, or just stocking up? Some of us have laid in years ago...

Re: still .22 shortage - 08/04/15 04:22 PM
The Allen Cabelas had standard velocity CCI ammo yesterday or the day before; there was a ton of it and they also had a ton of bulk Thunderbolt.
I missed a 1600rd case of CCI Mini-Mag the other night on Gunbroker, went for $151.

Lots of it at the Wichita Falls show but you may not want to drive that far.
