Accurate 4350 and .308??? - 07/11/15 01:27 AM

Picked up some Accurate 4350 to reload 30-06 and was wondering if anyone has ever used it for reloading .308. I see recipes on their site for .243, 7mm08, 30-06, etc. but not .308

Or, does anyone know why one should not use it for .308? I was thinking about trying 40 grains and then step it up about .25 until I find a load that patterns nicely (of course I will not go above 44 grains and probably not past 43).

4350 is a little slow for the .308. Even with heavy bullets it will not give optimum performance which is why there is no data.

Must be why THE powder of choice for .308 is H-Varget.

Varget is good. I avoid it for the most part.
I use the same reasoning as Yogi Berra when asked about going to a local restaurant he replied " no one ever goes to that restaurant anymore.... It's too crowded!! cheers

I have come to appreciate 223CFE for most .308 loads.
