Best powder for shorter barrel AR

Little redundant to the thread below....but....

In a short barreled AR 14.5" would I do best with a faster powder? Give me some recommendations , gun has 1X8 5R twist. Mostly 69-77gr bullets but I have 55gr ballistics too.

I assume I need a faster powder to all burn up in 14.5" to be efficient....correct? Or am I over thinking this as usual?

Most of the time the highest velocity load in the longer barrel is also the highest velocity load in the shorter barrel. What you get by moving to a faster powder is usually reduced muzzle flash, not more velocity.

That said, high velocity is over rated. I'd load for reduced muzzle flash at respectable velocity, myself.

I agree, I'm about accuracy first

H322, AA2230......H335 gives off some big booms in shorter barrels.

Here is a Contender handgun of mine, 223 with a 14" barrel.
