I'm going there this season for elk and mule deer. Loading 165 grain for the 30.06 but I'll be using the Barnes TSX. Also taking myWinchester 70 .338 win mag with 225 gr TSX.
Partitions are great bullets from what I hear. I have never used them before but I'm sure they work great. I shot Bergers or Hornady Amaxs so I'd opt for the accubond. I really like how those types of bullets expand, I am not to worried about penetration.
People say Bergers or bullets like that don't hold together but I shot a whitetail doe in the should and she never took a step.
Load up either one of those and have confidence it will perform very well. Have used both and it is hard to tell which bullet did the damage to the animal, those are boringly consistent in their very good terminal performance on game.

Whichever shoots best in YOUR rifle is the short answer & personally I'd go with the 165's for a tad more MV available on Muley's...or Elk too, using either one of THOSE bullets. JMHO & YMMV Ron
Any good quality 165 or 180 grain in the right place will do the job. But considering the investment in a hunt (travel, tags, out of state license, vacation etc) I only load Partitions. 40 years of loading 100 gr n .243, 125 and 140 in 6.5-06, 150 and 180 in .30-06 and 225 in .338 Win. If it ain't broke don't fix it. Back when I could afford mulie and elk tags on the same trip I used the .30-06 with 180 Partitions. Nothing hit walked away ( I did have range estimation issues early on). Now I use a .54 flintlock with a patched roundball and get close.
There may be some theoretical advantage to other products over Partitions maybe even something with a minuscule measurement of an obscure meaningless parameter. Partitions just work and are plenty accurate in my rifles.
Those are both great bullets I would load 165 for more muzzle velocity. The 165 will shoot flatter than the 180. The Accubond will have a better ballistics since it has a polycarbonate tip and boattail. I would shoot some of both and see witch works the best.

Cant go wrong with either one. For longer range I would give Accubond the edge, however my #1 choice for just about any kind of hunting is the Partition.
The accubond shoots well out of every gun I loaded it for. By no means am I a professional this is just my 2c. The barnes will leave alot of copper in your barrel quicker than others but will hold together and penetrate through anything. The Berger is one of my favorites but it can be a pain in some rifles to get it shooting sub moa, if you decide on berger you may want to try the hybrid, its less sensitive to seating depth and if you go with the VLD make sure you have a die that will not damage the tip of the bullet like the RCBS competition
