Berger VLD seating depth sensitive? - 03/08/15 05:57 PM

These 140 vlds continue to amaze me as to how easy they're to tune for a rifle. This is the 2nd rifle I've used these bullets in and found them not to be as seating depth sensitive as most people would have you believe. Anyone ever have trouble working with vlds?

The last time I helped a bud with his, we found "the" charge then played with seating depths in .005" increments. Like yours it told us where it wanted to be. I'm running the 180 gr VLD jammed .001" in my 7 Rem Mag. I probably should play with seating depth since I never have. I think it is looking like one more step necessary on VLDs. But on A-maxes, I don't see a need. They have always shot even, or a few thousandths off.
