DRT Ammunition for Hunting

DRT Ammunition for Hunting - 02/25/15 03:16 AM

Saw several boxes of it at academy yesterday in 300 Win Mag. I was intrigued and never heard of it before. I looked at the website http://www.drtammo.com/DRT-Technology and it said it was good for hunting. Has anyone ever used it in a hunting situation for big game? It sounds interesting but it seems like a frangiable bullet would fail horribly If it struck a bone, but the website states that it will not happen.

I tried them out in .223 and it killed my son's first whitetail. However, there was a very small entry and zero exit but the inside's were wrecked. The deer went maybe 40 yards and fell over dead. I moved away from them because I didn't like the zero blood trail and no exit. Perhaps the .300 would work different but I'm not willing to wound an animal on a bullet that "blows up" inside the animal.
