Opinions on 3 calibers and a couple of powders

Opinions on 3 calibers and a couple of powders - 02/17/15 04:23 AM

I need to load some ammo for 7mm Remington Magnum 168gr Berger...300 Win magnum with 180 Accubond and last but not least 300 Weatherby Magnum with the 180 E-Tips.

Right now I am using a different powder for each and was considering just simplifying a little.

I am thinking H1000 or H4831SC although Alliant 4000MR is a contender as well. These are all readily available and I have some of each on hand to try before I make the plunge and buy big.
Just wondering if there was any words of wisdom to make me lean one way or another and if I am missing a powder that is a no brainer like H4350 in the 6mm/6.5 Creedmoor

H1000, Retumbo, 4000MR are three I would strongly consider.

Retumbo and h1000 are very popular in big magnum cases.

H1000 agreed. But hard to find. 4831 and Norma are good to.

On paper at least, slower powders look best with heavier bullets. I'd probably try H1000 first but wouldn't shy away from H4831 if the results were not up to snuff.

H4831 in my 300 WMs. Printed a .857" group at 200 on Saturday with it and 180 ABs

I run Retumbo for my 7 Rem Mag and 180's. I used it in my neighbor's 7 Rem Mag with 168's.

Chad told me to run H-1000 for a friend's 300 Win Mag with 210's

RL is available but it is temp sensitive. But it is repeatable once you get good dope for all weather

RL23 is a brand new non-temp sensitive version of RL22.
Read up on it. It has certainly piqued my interests.
