Freakin Weatherby brass! - 12/20/14 03:16 AM
Just did some research and it appears to be very difficult to measure headspacing on it with that dang rounded shoulder. A friend of mine has a beautiful Weatherby rifle chambered in 7 Weatherby Mag, he is considering rebarreling with a tighter twist to run 180's. I originally told him that we could rechamber it in 7 Weatherby since he has brass and dies, and that I could make it shoot. But I want a .003" bump on the shoulders and that rounded shoulder is tough to measure and set the FL die for a .003" bump. I'm tempted to tell him lets rechamber the new barrel for 7 Rem Mag to get a straight shoulder.
