Got new to me bow, now what

So I bought a used 2012 Elite Answer bow yesterday. Bare bow so I need some accessories. Tell me what to get. This is a new arena so asking y'all for input on the sights, releases, etc. Got about 400$ to get fully set up. That's why I need the advice. Trying to avoid costly mistakes. Thanks

I really like the QAD rest. Take it to a real proshop and they should be able to help you set it up to fit you.

Find an archery shop that has a full line of bows and accessories. They can set you up and give you some instruction and maybe even some range time at their shop.

Find a pro shop like stated above, but do some research on things like sights, stabilizers, rests, etc. This will give you an idea of what you might and might not need. I've seen too many pro shops just try and sell you the most expensive gear they can. For instance, no need to buy a five pin sight if a three pin is enough. And if you're not sure about something, ask questions about how it works or what it does and what makes that the best choice for your setup. Good luck and hope you have fun with it.

The pro shop I go to has a couple of boxes of used, quality stuff for a good price. You may ask if your shop if they have anything like that.

Try before you buy. IMO, a bow is not a one size fits all object and neither are the accessories.

The sights are going to depend on what you plan on doing with the bow. If you are planning on only hunting and shooting from 25 yards and closer, get a solid one pin sight. If you think you will be shooting 3d, I would recommend an adjustable sight. If you plan on hunting from 20 yards out to 50 yards, I would get a multi-pin sight so you don't have to adjust in the field.

Pro shop will set you up with dampeners, string silencers, etc. I like the monkey tails personally.

For a rest, hard to beat the QAD drop away IMO.

For the release, shoot a couple before you buy. This is definitely one area that I don't think there is a "best", it will be what fits you the best.

I prefer a stabilizer, but it isn't a must have, especially if you are limiting your range to 20 yards or so.

This is the rest that I have and I love it. The arrow doesn't move around at all in the rest. Being full capture there is no way it can fall out or bounce around to make noise.

I don't know much about that bow but I would first make sure it is the correct draw length? Will this take pulley swap or can it be adjusted for draw length to fit you by adjustments. Can't set it up till it fits the shooter.

I shoot axis. Don't get caught in the hype with some of the arrows. I used Beman for years and they worked great. Key with arrows is to make sure that the person sizing them knows what they are doing. Length, spine, etc needs to be calculated.

Also, make sure to tune your bow once it is all set up with the new stuff
