Sideways Arrow

When shooting 100 grn field points, my arrows fly perfectly straight, hit the target straight, and become lodged in the target straight(90 degrees).

I purchased some 100 grn Grim Reaper mechanicals and a practice head came with the package to I attached the practice head to shoot a few times to make sure it would still be on target. My first three shots results in the arrow becoming lodged in the foam target at an angle with the fletchings off to the left resulting in my arrows becoming lodged in the foam target at an approximate 70 degree angle as opposed to 90 degrees. I adjusted the whisker biscuit and it straightened out quite a bit but now I am thinking maybe I put a band aid on the problem instead of fixing something that is potentially adverse to the tune of the bow.

Do I need to do something different, am I hurting the bow by adjusting the WB to solve the problem?

Also, after moving the WB slightly which helped straighten up the arrow with the Grim Reaper practice tip, I put the regular field points back on and the arrows are still hitting the target straight on and sticking into the foam at 90 degrees

You are going in the right direction. Field points are very forgiving. You want to continue to adjust your arrow rest/D loop to get your broad heads to impact as close as possible to your field points. They may not ever hit the exact spot, due to broadhead design, but get it as close as possible. Continue to also watch how the arrow flies as it impacts your target, IE tail up -down side to side instead of arriving at the target in the same degree of flight as it left your bow. Get on youtube and look at a lot of videos on how to tune your bow. This will at least get you going. Best advice is to get with someone close to you that knows how to properly tune your bow. Where are you located?

Also, pay real close attention to your shooting form so that you are not torquing your bow when you release your arrow. be as consistent as possible.

Sounds like you are doing it right. Only thing I would add is to test it with a real head since they are slightly different from the practice heads.

I use the Grim Reaper's and if your bow is properly tuned they will group with your field points. Because the GR practice and actual BH are very small "wings" on the front of your arrow they will magnify any tuning problem you have in your set up. My suggestion is to try paper tuning your bow with field points since you will probably find that you have a left or right tear and that will tell you what turning corrections you need to make. Once you have your bow shooting "bullet" holes through paper you will find your BH flight is cleaned up too. There are tons of videos on how to paper tune and I find it is still the fastest way to get everything shooting together again. BTW, fixed blade BH's will just make your problem worse.
You don't need a fancy rig to hold the paper for paper tuning just get a cardboard box and open up both ends, place you paper across it and shoot through the box.

I have somebody nearby that can roughly tune it. They tuned it for me with the field points and got everything working pretty good together, but I would like to start tuning myself and learn the basics.

I generally try to learn to do things myself and not to rely on others since I want to be able to problem solve if the time ever comes where I don't have others for help.

I shot Thunderheads and they shoot just like my field points!
