I'm heading to the ranch Thurs or Friday depends on what I get done this week, don't know when I'm coming back, that's the advantage of working for yourself.

Been waiting on bow season since deer season closed last year!

I'll get to the ranch about midnight Saturday night.. I'll get the sunday morning and evening hunts in.

I'll pull through the gate about 5:30am Sat morning. I live 17 miles from the lease.

I don't get excited about it till about the 3rd week in Oct. That's when we usually get the first good cold snap of the year. After that, it's game on!!!!

I've got a 16'x24' dock to deck tomorrow and I'm calling it a week. Head down Thursday morning and get camp set up, pull cards, make sure there is some alfalfa in the feeder and make a quick repair to the golf cart. Then two days to hunt. But Monday I have jury duty and a scout meeting.

We leave Friday afternoon. Plenty of time to get down there and get settled in.

280 miles.......I've packed, unpacked, repacked, check recheck and double triple checked......

And I will still forget something

Could be worse a young couple wanted to have a big county wedding. Well where else to have the three day A fair with over 100 people than 600 yards from my deer blind. Porta potties in the pasture and all haha. Oh well I can't hunt till Wednesday anyway and have such high deer densities that they will probably be sitting there looking at them like good luck man. Heck it may really help me because I could probably show up hung over straight out of the bar in the deer won't notice the difference in smell haha. Good luck to everybody getting in the stands this weekend. Let those arrows fly got my new sights dialed in last week. I hope to have a doe to post mid week my self. Don't care to shoot bucks except culls but I do love watching several of the studs I have walking around they are a lot of fun to watch. My buddy get so mad because I don't shoot deer that are twice the size of the biggest on their lease.

I am kind of the same way.
I'll be leaving work early today and then staying until Monday afternoon. My wife has a new crossbow, if I missed this weekend there would be bad times in Simple's house.
