Excalibur micro 335 or Mission Dagger - 05/08/15 04:02 AM

I am looking for real people experiences with each. I can't decide between the two which one to get. Thanks!

Not familiar with the Micro, but I have the Matrix 380 and it is bad to the bone. I also had a TenPoint Stealth SS at the same time, and liked it as well. One thing about the Excalibur, I don't have to take it to the shop, put it on a press and change strings/cables. I can do all that in the field and it will take me less than 5-minutes.

I have the Matrix 380 also and it's a beast! Would love to have a Micro for hunting from some of our small box blinds. After reading a bit about the Dagger, you have a really tough choice on your hands. My biggest concern with any cam-bow is the need for a shop if something gets out of tune. Apparently the Dagger has the ability to change strings without a press and also be let off without shooting it, two features that Excalibur has always had over the others. I'd shoot them both if I could and pick the one you like better.

Thanks for information. Anyone else?

The dagger currently has a recall:

I have a Micro ordered and if it is anything like any other xcal product (I currently own a matrix 405 and a 380) it should be deadly accurate and bomb proof reliable. It is also a pound lighter than the dagger, but even though tiny by recurve standards it is likely still wider than the dagger.

I appreciate the info. I have heard from two bow shops the micro is actually shooting at or above the 335fps it's rated at and they have said they are selling them faster than any of the Excalibur models. Think I'm gonna get the micro.

If you go the xcal route (sounds like you are leaning that way) I would highly recommend joining the excalibur forum. There are a ton of guys on that site that know a ton about every model and will be able to answer any question you can dream up.

I know a few people with micros and most of them are getting 345+ fps.

I don't think you'll be disappointed.
