whats your go to CC?

I have a few pistols but none that have become my favorite go to CC handgun... What are ya'lls favorites and why? pics if you got em.

Glock 43 with a plus 2 mag extension

Gen 3 Glock 19 with a bit of work to it for the last 5 years or so

XDS .45 ACP, flush mount mag 5+1.
OWB holster, shirt untucked.

Glock 23, Glock 27, Nighthawk Customs Ladyhawk which is a commander sized 1911.

EAA Witness compact alloy 10mm or .40. If I feel I need more fire power without a mag change I'll carry my full size Witness .38 Super with 19 rounds. Crossbreed Supertuck for all.

I carry a S&W MP40 whether I'm on duty or not.

XDs 9mm with a flush mount mag but mag extension so my pinky isn't hanging off. i have a +1 and +2 mag that I use sometimes if I can get away with it. One of my +2s stays in my truck.

M&P shield - 9mm .

I upgraded a shield 40 with an apex trigger and better sights. Fits me good, it’s reliable, and it throws them where I aim if I do my part. The single stack is thinner and has a smaller footprint = more comfortable for me.

Either a ruger LCRx or EC9, depending on what I am wearing or what I am doing.

Not my favorite but I carry a Kahr CW380 almost all the time.

Les Baer SRP, full-size 1911 in a Crossbreed horsehide holster, which I trimmed down.

Just routine daily stuff, a Glock 26. For areas where there might be negative social interactions a ParaOrdanance HiCap 45, and 3 14 round mags. If it's really hot and humid, I may drop down to a Para P-12, with 3, 12 round mags.

Are we expecting an all-out gunfight?

Glock 19 with night sights and I Inforce APLc light.

I got into a precarious sistuation one night with my wife in a mall. She was a good distance away while I was looking at watches. I hear this voice next to me say “Officer XXXX” and the hair on my back stood up. I knew right away who it was without looking. Me and this guy have gone toe to toe many times. I’ve arrested him over 10 times for drugs and guns. I look up and there’s his usual accomplice, and directly to my left was another local dope dealer. In my pocket was a 5+1 9mm sub compact. We were in an unoccupied area of this department store, and I could tell things weren’t going my way.

Once the wife and I got out of there I vowed to never carry a sub compact again. If I can’t defend myself that’s fine, if I can’t defend my wife, that’s unacceptable.

I know most people would not be in a situation like that, but it’s a reality of my profession.

Umm details... wth happened. Did you go all Jackie chan on them?

I love my G43, but would like to get used to G19. Its just bulky.

Compared to the 43 anyway.

The G19 is easier to shoot well than the G43 and adds more rounds. Try to make the change.

I haven't carried anything other than my P365 since completing a 300 round "shakedown".


Before that it was either a P938 or P320 Compact. Both were compromises. The P938 compromised capacity, the P320C compromised conceal-ability.

I have about 1k rounds through my Sig P365, but I do wonder, does that mean it's good to go or about to break? Right now I'm carrying either my M&P.40c or the Sig P229 in .357 Sig or.40S&W.

Daily either a Glock 26 or 19 depending on what I am doing or wearing. I carry both appendix. Today it was the 19.

The only time you can have too much ammo or fuel is if you are on fire.

Ruger LC9s. Just fits me.

Beretta PX4 9mm or a Sig P365.

I've got over 1k rounds through the P365 with no problems. Tough reloading on a single stage but, tougher to reload when you're either 6 feet under or recovering in the hospital. Your call.

Kahr CW 380 in a Talon holster usually, but i'm not current or ex law enforcement, i'm low profile and I avoid chancy places.

Sig 239, same one I've carried for close to 20 years.

Carried a P938 scorpion for a while but as mentioned earlier, it was full of compromises. Now carry a VP9SK

When I took my cc class one of the guys had one of these...the officer teaching the class said that is probably the worst option for a carry gun and very dangerous if you have to shoot it.

Did he elaborate on why?

Overpenetration, because it's a rifle round in a pistol.

I don't own one but a quick look with the Google shows that out of a pistol, the 5.7 has about the same velocity (maybe a little less) than a 22 mag out of a rifle, so i ain't sure that i am buying what he is selling, especially if a person was shooting an expanding bullet.

I was hoping they would have came out with ammo by now for the 5.7 that bear explodes on impact to prevent that problem. With the original offerings for a 5.7 you’d get at least 3 people before the bullet stopped.
