Stolen Rifle -- If you see this...

Stolen Rifle -- If you see this... - 07/05/18 03:28 AM

Sorry for an off topic post, but I know most of you folks spend a decent amount of your free time looking at rifles and was hoping to leverage the power of many.

I had a rifle stolen out of my pickup. Police report filed, serial number given, etc. but we know how these stories usually end. If you happen to run across it, I'd appreciate a message and happy to give a reward as well.

Remington 700 .308 custom
AB Arms Mod X chassis - bronze
Vortex HD Gen II 4.5-26

Where in Frisco? Your house, a store, Target, etc....

Very sorry to hear this. One of my biggest fears right there. Ill be on the lookout for but I'd fear them parting it up. Any noteable marks on the chassis or scope?

I sure hope that you had the serial numbers.
A better (bigger) picture would be nice.

Yes, serial number is RR46452E. We all know thieves are stupid, so they would be dumb to part it up more than removing scope and bipod. Extensive work was done to the action, barrel, and chassis which would basically take all of the value out of it if they tried to do a full part job.

Lesson learned for me -- I don't take lots of pictures of my guns. That will change from here on out, you can guarantee yourself that.

Still curious as to where and how it was stolen? I live in Frisco, that's why I'm curious.

Was going to shoot and my kids unexpectedly changed my plans and I momentarily forgot it was in my truck. My fault for giving someone the opportunity -- that part is what it is -- but I'd love to have it back.

I'd be willing to offer a reward up to $1,000 if it comes back fully intact (i.e. including scope, chassis, etc.) and in similar shape. This is purely out of my pocket since I'm not collecting from insurance on it.

That sucks! I hope you find it and I hope the bastards that stole it get what they deserve.

Just don't leave them unattended in a vehicle.
