For Ruger LCP owners

A very common issue with Ruger LCPs (like mine) that haven't seen a lot of rounds shot through them. The small frame and sharp angle that rounds must take between the mag and feed ramp make them very prone to jamming. I found that polishing the feed ramp as shown in the video below greatly improved feed reliability. Any good metal polish should do the trick with a good cleaning afterwards to remove any polish residue.

The reason for owning an lcp isn’t to shoot it. It’s to carry it. Yea i shoot a couple mags through it each range trip, but that’s it. It’s a fantastic pocket pistol, and in my case, after 200+rounds (nearly 500 between me and my wife’s LCP) theyve proven to be 100% reliable with every ammo (including several brands of cheap fmj and expensive defensive ammo) mine rides in my front pocket 12+ hours a day, 7 days a week.

i still have one. if the trigger didn't suck so bad,
and was .45acp instead of a .380, i might even like it.
i can say i've not had any malfunctions of any kind with
any of the suck-butt ammo i've put through it.
i will say in defense of it that it's not designed as
a target pistol for 100 yard firefights. it's a "get
the eff off of me you crackhead dumba$$! ! !" pistol

Well, heck, if shooting isn’t the purpose for it I’ll just carry a stick of chewing gum. Cheaper, lighter, and I can have fresh breath too.
Then use my G43 for the shooting.

You got served, own it and move on and quit being douchie. It fires when you need it to, end of discussion.

Not every gun has to be easy to conceal and fun to shoot at the range. I love shooting full size revolvers at the range, would hate to try to conceal one. The LCP is the easy gun to conceal I’ve ever carried. I’ll happily take that over it being a little bigger and more fun to shoot.

No need to defend the capabilities of the LCP. The title of my original post should have made it clear that it was directed as a helpful resource for those who now own and use one.

Have one and the Tarus P3 that both have been reliable shooters, while not a range pistol for pure enjoyment they still are fun to shoot IMO. With the Tarus which does not have as good a trigger as the LCP I have knocked down 5 bowling pins at 2 yards so not "target" accuracy but better than a pea shooter. Like someone else pointed out thrse are belly guns intended for powder burn distance

As someone here once commented about pocket guns, it's a great "get off me" gun.

That is what most are really designed for.

I have one and have tried to jam it, firing fast, slow, and everything else. It keeps on ticking. I don’t think you would be very successful getting splattered with a 380 jacked load.
