Multi caliber suppressors "Hybrids"

Multi caliber suppressors "Hybrids" - 03/25/18 05:32 PM

I am looking to buy a suppressor and was wondering if this would be a good way to go. I would like to use it for both 7.62 and 5.56. Sorry if the question has been asked, I didn't find anything when I scanned through past posts.

I won't buy anything smaller than a .30 cal suppressor.

It gets used on .223, .22-250, 6.5 Creedmoor, 7mm-08, 7 Rem Mag, .308

Which product do you recommend? I only plan to buy once so I put performance over price. The fast attach set ups look nice, but I am not sure they are worth the extra money. Have been looking at the SOCOM300 SPS

So there is a lot to this...

Most suppressors can fire a smaller caliber and be fine. Ie most 308 can fire 223

Now you need to determine what you want it for and what features matter.

The two most important features to me are weight and attachment method. Are you swapping a lot? Do you want direct thread? The weight is driving by use. Lightweight= titanium is the way to go. Going to be doing full auto mag dump, steel may be better for you.

I would advise figuring out what you want cans for. Then set up a road map.

Crux is good, thunderbest has good reviews, I like q superssors

Silencerco used to be a big name but they are going down hill. They got a few niche cans that are nice.

Another big question is if it will go on magnums. They tend to need a more robust can

Crux Arc 30 will probably my next one. I did lots of research and wanted short and light as possible. Seems many builders are having similar decibel reduction, but Crux is building them shorter and lighter.

Buy once, cry once, you will have it the rest of your life.

Personally I would never buy a QD mount can. For me, the most important factors in order are weight, length, suppression, and price.

Most 30 cal cans will work on everything up to 300 WM, but verify before buying.

Lots of good brands....Thunderbeast, AAC, Silencerco, Crux, Q....hard to go wrong with any of them.

Once you decide what you want it will be easy to narrow it down to 3 or 4 choices.

It seems to me that the multi-caliber hybrid suppressor is like a Jack of all trades, master of none. It will suppress, but it is not the best suppressor for any caliber.
A 7.62 can will do a really good job of suppressing 5.56. Just don't shoot rimfire through one.

Skip aac. They haven’t had anything new in years and they are cutting corners on the old designs

Nothing wrong with a .30 cal can on a 5.56, I don’t really even consider that multi-cal. To me multical is more like the Hybrids that can do 5.56 up to .45 caliber.

I went with the silencerco Hybrid for this reason. It is still in jail but I can change end caps and run .17 HMR to .45acp. The end caps help with reducing DB and we will see what happens when I get it.

If you're buying your first rifle can and it's going to jump around, get a .30.
