Any Llama collectors? I need some education on one

Hello, I need some education on this brand of pistol. I purchased one the other day, it was very clean and appears as to of hardly ever shot much the best I can tell, but I don't know much about them and it seemed to be cheap enough so I thought I would take a chance on it.
It is a 380 cal in a small metal 1911 look, blued with plastic grips. After looking it up it may be the basic model, I'm thinking it the model lllA or the small frame model ( which I think it is since my book say some thing about it being a 1911 design and single action)
I have not shot it yet, so I don't know how it feeds or ejects. Has metal sights but it appears to me that the front sight may be missing, it looks as if the front sight has a pin type tread into a round hole recessed on top between the permenant upright wings, all of which is very smallon top of slide. It also has vent rib on top of slide.
I am needed to be educated, I liked the 1911 compact look and feel of it, got for my wife to carry but got it home and she don't like it so debating on weather to keep or get rid of, but not sure what I have here, I don't see any model numbers on it any where, just going by description from book, blue book of gun values.

Not a LLama 380 expert, but I have taken one apart before. It is basically a miniature 1911. (model 70 style). They can be finicky about ammo, so you may have to try different brands. The one I had ran fine on Winchester Silvertips. As far as the front sight, the only ones I have seen had a blade sight (like a 1911) on top of the vent rib.

That looks like what I have but the grips are black and missing that front sight, it may be a tiny scew that anchors that sight in and that's the little hole I am seeing that made me think just a pin type sight instead of the blade type showing in the picture on the front. I just remembered that it also has that double safty set up using the palm grip area and the flip safty on the left side.
I really don't know much about them and if they are worth even having.

You just learned the first rule of shooting with your wife. Never pick a gun for her. She’s gotta pick it on her own. That’s like letting your wife pick out a pair of boots for you. They gotta fit just right.

ya, I learned that rule for sure. Told her I was going to gun show this week end and she said do not buy her another one, she wants to pick one out. she qualified with my G19 and did great with it. She was not sure if that's what she wants. I let her know she could not have it since that's what have but I would get her a newer one.

I just may use this llama as trade towards another G19, and if she don't want it I get another one, yeh, I win the short game but she will win the long game, lol

Llamas are actually pretty nice guns...every one I've ever handled seemed nicely made. The last thing I recall reading about them (and that was probably in the 90s) was that getting parts for one is very tricky because of a very large number of variations. Not even sure they'r still made.

Try Numrich or Sarco for parts for this gun.

They were offered in three calibers.

Model XV - .22 LR

Model XA - .32 ACP

Model IIIA - .380 ACP

They went thru several changes over the years. The earlier guns (like the one pictured) that had the scallops cut into the front of the slide were usually quite good (though some had a soft firing pin that would deform easily, but they aren't difficult to fab if you need one).

The later ones with the slide rails extending all the way to the muzzle were more problematic, but there were still some good ones in those as well.

I am guessing that what I have is the lllA - .380 acp or the small frame model, have not had a chance to shoot it yet we have been slammed with rain and ice.

I wonder what they are going for these days? the one I have is very clean prob mid 90's upper 90's as far as looks and clean?
