Birthday build is done! - 02/03/18 03:15 AM
My wife’s birthday is the 6th and she’s always liked shooting, but has taken more interest in wanting to learn more about guns at a deeper level than just shooting. She asks about how they function, what parts are called, etc. so I figured a quick 10/22 build would be perfect for that. Picked up a 10/22 carbine at academy last week, ordered a few parts, and we were off. I had the scope and rings in the safe. Here’s what we put together. Nothing too crazy
*Brand new 10/22 that we only kept the action out of
*Green mountain 16.25” .920 heavy fluted barrel
*Ruger BX Trigger
*Boyd’s At-One gunstock in blackjack
*Ruger factory scope base
*TPS steel rings low
*Nikon Prostaff 7 4-12x40 w/ side focus
All in just under $700 since I had the scope and rings already.
First range trip will be Monday. I’m expecting 1/2” groups at 50 yards based on everything I’ve read about the green mountain barrels.
