is there an extended magazine available for this rifle. Looking at the Ranch or Compact model in .223

Not that I've seen. There are after-market bolt shroud and bolt handle options, plus a firing pin removal tool.

The American ranch 7.62x39 takes mini 30 mags...

I cannot understand why they didn't make the .223 and .300 Blackout models use mini 14 mags.

It is next on the list. Also coming out with the predator model in 6.5 Grendel taking AR mags. Some cool stuff coming from Ruger.
