Did JG have a shooting match yesterday? With all the flooding rains yesterday I figured there must a a correlation.

What do I need to do to come shoot at the next match?

anything you hunt with, optics are a must though. Some guys cheat with 18# full tactical rigs but I used to hunt with one, so, its cool . about 60 rounds are needed. Everyone usually bring 100 rounds. There could be a .22 rimfire side match too.

I shoot a .223 bolt gun, great for every stage except the feared "spinner" luckily it broke last year, so it was scratched. .223 is just a little light to spin it. its a ton of fun. there are a couple great shooters but the rest of us just come to shoot.

velocity must be under 3000fps, so no supper hot magnums. PLEASE have your 100 yard zero BEFORE you come. You will be able to confirm it QUICKLY the morning of the match. So don't show up not positive your gun is "ON".

Make SURE all your mounts are TIGHT, there is no "down time" to fix your stuff because you weren't prepared.

I showed up with a rifle with no zero, no dope and and was shaking like a pup chitting a peach pit (ask big Fitz lol) They were able to figure that rifle out in a matter of minutes.

Does this Hunting Rifle Challenge go out to the 800 yd target? I'm considering coming but my hunting rifle is a 6.8 with 16" barrel, I'm scared.

JG isn’t the format of winter match more long range work and the hunters challenge the summer? Jake’s been honing his 800 yd cold bore shot and is gonna be real disappointed if we don’t get to stretch it out a bit.

It's normally the opposite, long range is summer and hunter (short range) is winter time.

Yes, but you have to walk through mud to the 600 yard berm to shoot off a Wobbly tee post at the 800 yard target.

All I was gonna offer is $200 and a handshake. Kyle changes rifles like most do their underwear...just think what he'll be doing after changing 10-20 diapers a day? He will have zero time for manly hobbies for the next 18 years and gun technology will advance significantly so he will want to get rid of that purty rifle quickly...especially if BIL beats him in March.

more like 18 months, but by then, he may be starting all over, that's what happened to me anyway and it was a full tailspin for 5 years straight, because of it, I'm a good 15 years older than I was 10 years ago when my daughter got here
