Rem 700 bolt 308 face - 12/02/17 12:28 AM

Well, I screwed up and messed up my bolt handle. Any one know where I can find a new bolt? Midway is backorder and don't seem to find em on Brownells. Took it to a very good smith up here and he recommended I replace the bolt.

A new bolt will require fitting and headspacing by a real gunsmith. This is not a DIY project.

Send it to Kampfeld and they can put a new bolt handle on it.

What exactly did you do to the bolt handle that you have to replace it. The handle itself can be re-attached by timing it and tig welding back on.

it got dropped and the handle snapped on where the knob was threaded. that's what I thought but it would run about the same or near enough to a replacement. ptg has a new complete bolt for $150.00

$150 is a great price on a new bolt. Is that a factory Remington bolt for that price?

Your handle can be repaired. If you decide to get a replacement I would certainly like to buy your broken one.
PM sent.

dan armstrong at accu-tig is "the man" when it comes to remington bolt handles. he keeps a lot of dofferent styles in stock and its about $50 to have the new handle tig welded on. turnaround time is VERY FAST and you will never have to worry about your bolt handle again. i have installed a lot of big bolt knobs on remington bolt handles and you would be surprised how often there are large voids in the casting. makes for a very weak area indeed!
