Anyone have one? I was thinking about getting one on black Friday instead of another one. I know it’s a cheaper handgun, I don’t have a large gun collection so I figured I’d add to it. I watched some review videos and everyone likes it except for the trigger and sights, but I can change them out

Double action only, correct? Double action only guns require the shooter to pull the trigger its entire length in order to pull the hammer back and release it with each shot. Unlike the single action/double action firearm, a DAO gun has no exposed hammer or mechanism that allows the hammer to be set in its cocked position and released like the trigger on a rifle. For that reason, I don't see where a different trigger gets around the DAO design.

DAO guns are considered safer for follow up shots since the hammer is not cocked after each shot. My understanding is the design if often preferred by some LEO's who cannot make follow up mistakes in stressful situations.

Some more serious shooters claim that with practice, a shooter can make a DAO firearm perform like a single action/double action, meaning the trigger can be pulled back to hold the hammer in its near release position. I'll never be that good with mine.

That I’m not sure. I have little knowledge on firearms. I know this particular handgun don’t have a hammer. One review video I watched the guy was talking about once you learn the trigger go can hold it at the trigger reset and be able discharge a lot faster than if you were to let the trigger come all the way forward. Not sure if that’s what you were referring to or not

I have the 9mm version and for ~$300 it is a good gun. It is a DAO striker fired gun. The trigger is not as long a pull as the earlier Sigma series. I don't have a problem with the three dot white sights. It is not a tack driver but is plenty accurate for SD or plinking etc.

I would not pay BPS' sale price ($349) but Academy usually will have them on sale for $279-299 on a fairly regular basis.

It is fine for what it is and I have never had any issues with mine in two years. My wife shoots it and I trust it enough for it to be her nightstand gun.

Had mine for 2 years now and put hundreds of rounds thru it. Very accurate. The only ammo that ever FtF was Perfecta and that was only a few times. Installed the Apex trigger and spring kit and it really made a difference. Would highly recommend doing it ASAP if you get it.

Love Smith and Wesson revolvers, will not own a Smith and Wesson auto unless it's a model 41. Feel the same about Ruger unless we're talking the the Mark 1 and the variation built off of it.

I ended up getting the Taurus g2 get the 22 revolver for free. I watched and read lots of reviews. Haven’t shot it yet but from the looks and feel. I like it. I’m not a regular shooter. It might take me 10 years to shoot the bucket of 350 shells I got for it. So for 280 for two guns isn’t that bad

Why? I've shot multiple s&w autos all with excellent results.

Rear sight didn’t have elevation adjustment. That’s the only thing that turned me away from it
