HK53 Machine gun

Posted By: BCJ

HK53 Machine gun - 11/12/17 12:52 AM

Finally got the paperwork cleared and took possession of a factory HK53 machine gun. This is a true factory gun, not a conversion. It’s a pre 86 gun that had never been fired so today I broke it in

there is no such thing as cheap when it comes to class three/ machine guns. the pre 1986 BS ensures that it is only going to get more expensive every year that goes by

Dealer sample guns are less than full transferables but still aren’t cheap by any means.

Post samples can be cheap but they are a pain to get ahold of.

My way of looking at it is that if you think the gun is too expensive you can't afford to feed it anyway. Those things remain waaaay off my radar.

Transferable MGs are investments...their value is only going to go up due to limited supply. Pre86, factory built and never fired is even more of a unicorn. If I had to guess the price on that bad-boy was probably in the $35-$40K range.

He stated that this is an all factory HK53 which to my knowledge there are ZERO transferable ones out there. Can't find the date they started making them but assuming after 1968. A couple may have slipped through the cracks like how some factory MP5s are supposedly out there but no one I know has admitted to owning one.

To be able to own a factory HK53 you must be a dealer or used to be a dealer. They are considerably cheaper then a converted HK53 on a Form 4 which a normal person could purchase. Still not "cheap" but definitely a lot more affordable.

Re: HK53 Machine gun - 11/15/17 09:34 PM

This is a pre-May dealer sample - it was imported after ‘68 but on the books before ‘86. They are available to dealers only due to the ‘68 importation ban. Only guns imported during that time frame are dealer samples.

The transferable registered received HK53’s are converted from HK93. If anyone is looking for a transferable 53 contact me.
