Gunsmith reco - stuck choke tub Houston - 10/06/17 01:25 PM
Got a buddy whose semi auto shotgun has a stuck tube. Very stuck.
A year recommendation for some to remove it in Houston? Closer to in town the better.
Thanks

cut it off
really, lust went through this, Soak it muzzle down in Kroil covering all the tube for 24 hours.
heat with hair drier
tap with nylon gunsmith hammer while unscrewing
try this, if still no go try Briley
then get your buddy some anti seize choke tube grease, Briley has it

Yep, Briley is the Greek God of chokes, (RIP Jess), and outstanding customer service. P_102

Bobby Pitchford in Waller. He used to work at Briley until he went out on his own. Pitchford Custom Guns.

My gunsmith buddy uses a choke tube wrench welded to a socket.. take the barrel off, wrap it in a towel, and put in a vice. It takes some elbow grease to get it out. Once you break it loose, it does get easier but it will be a noisy process. Idk how Briley does it but this way works. Living on the coast, I've seen him do quite a few that were neglected
What Buzz said. Soak it, heat it, work it.

Every time I see a thread like this one, I want to take my shotgun out of the safe and put fresh grease on the choke tube.

I concur. It also gets me to thinking about lots of other things I have which I have never had to take apart as of yet. Biggest worry is my F150 with a 5.4 running on the weird spark plugs. Sooner or later gonna hafta pull em out.
