Check out prices of the slide fire stocks on Gunbroker. One has an actual bid of $655! Guess AR style weapons will soon follow. Crap is ridiculous

total waste, once the ATF reclassifies it as a "no no" you'll have to dump it

I'm sure the bump stock and other similar similuated auto fire stuff is fun but I will never own one. It's a total waste of money. I'm just not interested. I'd one day love to have a full auto mp5 but even then it would only be a novelty and probably something I'm. Never actually buy because there are other gun and gun accessories I know I'd shoot more often.

It's almost funny. They were getting to the point where they couldn't give these away. All the Bubba's that wanted one had it, and everybody else figured out they didn't want or need it. I'd seen them down to $99 or less.

Re: Panicking - 10/05/17 07:24 PM

I agree these are probably going to end up getting banned. The Republicans will probably give them up to show they are "doing something" to appease the anti-gunners. If we are lucky they will at least combine the ban with a vote on the suppressor bill or at least link the two. I can use suppressors. Personally, I have never and will never use a bump stock. It pretty useless to me as far as accuracy and controlability is concerned. The anti's are just too damn dumb to be aware enough to realize that those stocks are just a means. They are not required to bump fire a semi-auto rifle/carbine. Bump firing has been around far longer than bump stocks. Banning a product has no effect on a process.

If they ban bump firing I am pretty sure you would be hunted down like a criminal whether it was a slide fire or your belt loop.

Re: Panicking - 10/05/17 07:35 PM

I'll give up a bump stock so long as it doesn't impact semi's upon which they're based.

But then, some might see the semi's as being next.

Re: Panicking - 10/05/17 08:13 PM

NRA addresses bump fire stocks
They may actually become illegal soon. But I've seen some prices on GB with actual bids over $1k, free market is an amazing thing but to take an item such as a slide fire stock and take advantage of a horrific incident is flat out pathetic.

Re: Panicking - 10/05/17 08:34 PM

I've always marveled that there are people out there who are actually ignorant enough to waste their money on such a device to begin with.

BUT..... it makes me sick that the first reaction after such a horrible incident is always to go whip up some gun control legislation and use the momentum to push an agenda. It's the person that did that.... no matter what tool he used.

Re: Panicking - 10/05/17 09:32 PM

I have no use for bump fires, problem is banning them will have zero effect on crime or mass shootings. The end game is to ban firearms completely and the gun grabbers won't stop until they get there.

Re: Panicking - 10/05/17 10:32 PM

Only thing I found them useful for was making empties to reload.

Anybody want one? wink

Re: Panicking - 10/06/17 07:19 AM

I just worry about what is going to happen the next time Dems hold the Presidency and majorities of the House and Senate. Unlike Republicans, they make up their mind to do something and they do it - lock step. The pendulum will swing the other way again someday and they will have the power to do whatever they want. If there isn't a conservative control of the supreme court when that time comes we are all screwed. You don't have to repeal the 2nd Amendment if the President will sign unconstitutional laws and the supreme court either won't hear the case or will uphold the law.

I think these are just a work around for not being able to get full auto. I don't think that semi autos would be next. I am not sure that there is an argument that will keep these on the market. I have no dog in this fight but not sure why we have to have them.

Nothing we can do about that.

If GOP would stop listening to lobbyists and start writing bills that make sense, they could be in office forever. But that's not about to happen.

Probably a better investment to buy a full-auto than put that money in the stock market. I almost bought a FA about 5 years ago...sure wish I had.
