Yes. IMO, I'd go Proof. I've had much better luck with the Proof barrels. I've had some issues with some high end (very expensive) Christensen Rifles and their "Accuracy Guarantee".

The Christensen rep is all over the place.

Here's a previous thread:

The short version is that I've got one of their steel rifles, a model no longer in production. My rifle likes Sierra Game Kings and seems to hate every other hunting bullet, although I haven't tried Bergers and I've got a sneaking suspicion they would do quite well in this particular rifle. My rifle is very accurate, meaning 1/2 to 3/4 groups, but very picky as to bullet.

Some of the Christensen rifles have been absolute hammers. They shot lights out. The others that didn't had bad stringing groups. From the first shot to the next, each round would string the groups. The last rifle I shot, I spent a lot of money trying to dial in a 338 Lapua at $4 a round. The link above talks a little bit about that rifle.

I dont have a carbon barreled Christensen, but I have the classic steel and it shoots good. I don't really care for the detachable magazine,(the Ridgeline has a hinged floor plate) but overall I'm satisfied with it. That said, I have a rifle being built at APR instead of buying another Christensen for roughly the same money.

I have a Christensen Carbon One Custom in .300 RUM that is a great shooter. Factory Remingtom Premier with 165 or 180 grain Scirrocos both shoot sub 3/4 MOA. But it's not a $2,500 gun.

I had a Christensen a while back, it was the coolest looking inaccurate rifle I have ever owned. It was in 25-06. I probably spent over $500 dollars in powders and pills trying to find a load that was sub moa. Never was better than a 1"-1.25" rifle. For $3k I expected much more. Never had a cooper but buddies do and swear by them. For that money I'd go nosler or Montana rifle or sako 85 based on personal experience. Cooper based on rep. Proof is what Christensen dreams it could be. There barrels are stupid accurate. If you want ultralight look into forbes rifle. Melvin Forbes's rifles are the standard which all ultralights are measured by. He is a remarkable builder and pioneered the ultralight mountain rifle that bansner became famous for.

Proof makes a pretty accurate barrel, but based on all of the gunsmiths I've talked to, they start to walk pretty badly after 2-3 rounds.

I'm the distributor for a different CF barrel company so take my opinion for what you will, but I've talked to 3 very well-respected gunsmiths who have all told me the exact same thing about Proof. I'm trying to stay clear of forum guidelines re: commercial promotion, but if you want a qualified opinion on CF barrels/ultralight hunting rigs, call Alamo Precision Rifles. Ask them which one you can expect to shoot most consistently.
