1979 Marlin 1894C in .357. In beautiful condition! Looks barely used. Bought it from a real cool cat on the green screen.

Very nice!! I have one from the following year.. Was '79 the first year they offered the '94 in that caliber? Seems like I heard that at one point.. Gotta love the pre-safety & gold trigger 1894's...

Pulled it out again and I can't believe how good of shape it's in. Just a few little minor dings on the stock. Got a pretty good deal too. $750 for the rifle, a case, and about 300 rounds of ammo (a lot of it is premium Hornady Leverevolution). Can't wait to get it to the range this evening!

Same thing happened to me with an 1894c 357 JM stamped that was manufactured in 2009 still NIB. Funny how guns and other hunting Utes just follow us home. This rifle is now my favorite rifle to shoot.

$750 w/ ammo is a STEAL!! That's a great price for that rifle without any ammo!!

I feel your pain, Palehorse. I hate it when those darned guns follow me home from gun shows and pawn shops! And it keeps on happening on a very regular basis!

I took it to the range this evening and shot it. I love it! With .357's, it performed flawlessly. With .38's, it double fed a few times, but no real bad jams. Not surprising, I've heard about that before in other carbines as well. Using Monarch 158 SJHP .357, I was getting about 1250 fps from my GP100 w/4" barrel. With the carbine, my chrono showed better than 1700 fps.
Here's my 50 yard group with stock sights and old eyes. I've ordered a Williams aperture sight so hopefully that will tighten my groups a little. All in all, it's a great rifle. My new favorite.

Glad you found a solid rifle that will continue to be fun to shoot.

If you aren't into reloading yet, That lil' carbine will make you want to start. I only have a Rossi M92 in .357, but it is also among my favorite firearms. Although I haven't had any hiccups running .38spl brass through it, I generally just prefer to load 357 brass down to whatever pressure I'm wanting.
