Browning BLR in 7-08, Thoughts?

Okay, would like to hear from folks that have some first-hand experience with Browning BLRs. Like the looks of the rifle and the caliber, but have no experience with them.

It is the "Lightning" model, lever-action, with 20" barrel length.

I've shot a BLR in .308. Ive wanted a BLR ever since. The 7-08 would probably have less recoil and make for a more pleasant range gun.

A friend had one in 308 and it was a nice gun, 7-08 should be good also.

I love mine in a 358...

I've heard the accuracy is a bit questionable, but probably more than adequate for a hunting rig. I've loved Browning levers for a long time and would love to have one. 7-08 is a great caliber.

I have one in 243 and had one in 308. They both shoot moa easy. Great guns no issues. My kids have made 200 yards shoots with the 243. Very accurate. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another

I'm another fan. The triggers are mediocre but improve with use.

I had a 308 many years ago but it was actually too pretty for me to hunt with so I sold it. Always wondered how it performed in rain and snow weather.

Thanks for all the replies. I did see some mention of the internals being a bit complex. Not to scared of that as I've taken all my rifles and pistols apart down to the bare frame, so am confident I could put it back together if it needs any work.

Did read where the accuracy was hit or miss, as in if a rifle shot great you had a good one, if it shot bad or so so, you couldn't improve it's accuracy.

Will need to research the trigger more on these, to see what improvements can be made in that department.

This rifle has some pretty wood and is blued, so like "blackcoal" stated my be too pretty to take out in bad weather.

I always liked them, they look got and it is a Browning. That being said my buddy bought one a few years ago in 7-08. Mounted a good scope on it, with decent rings. Was not accurate. Tried several loads, and never could get it to hold any type of group. I had one in 30-06 and like others said about theirs, it was accurate, so maybe the one you are looking at will be a good one.
