Latest Obsession

Well y'all have put up with about 3 years of me saying I'm gonna get this gun, I'm gonna get that gun. In summer it was a Weatherby Vanguard S2 in .270 Winchester with a Burris XTR II! Before that, back in 2013, it was a Tikka T3 in 7mm-08 Remington with a Leuopold VX2! lol now it's this:



I'm just obsessed with this thing it's so purty
My uncle has the old "LongTrac Stalker" in 30-06 that I zeroed for him back in August and he's since shot an addax with.

Anyone wanna ruin this particular stock/model of it for me?

Love those. I too have a older longtrac 30-06 that I love to hunt with. I want to add that model to the mix but don't know what caliber, maybe 7-08

I like the looks of the older BARs. the new forend design looks ugly to me. My opinion only.

I had an older BAR in .338 WM back when I was doing a lot of Nilgai truck hunting. It was a good gun. Can't decide if I like that new version or not, looks like a Browning silver shotgun had an affair with a Blaser rifle and this is the result!

I have the 7mm short-trac with a camo finish; it's a great gun. Balances and carries very well.

I love the Safari version BARs. Too bad you can't take them on Safari in most countries though. Id like to get one in 338 for a moose gun when I move to Maine.

The elder 30-06 I've shot is actually comparable to a hard kicking 25-06. maybe just me though

Minus the bling, they're actually pretty business-like. I find the recoil of my 7mm WSM to be very moderate. In terms of accuracy, mine will shoot into about 2.5" at 200, so not quite MOA, but close. I find the rifle (mine's a short-trac) balances better than the original BAR.
