What are the odds????

What are the odds???? - 10/15/16 08:52 PM

In all my long long 32 years of shooting smile I've never had this happen

Got in a new Burris xtr ii 5-25 and mounted it on a 20 moa talley with Burris tactical 34 mm rings.

Don't own a bore sight so took it out and at 25 one shot was on paper. So backed it up to 100 and it literally required zero elevation adjustment. A little right but 0 elevation. What are the odds of mounting a scope and not having any elevation adjustment. confused2

I know this isn't a great group to most of y'all but with my shooting platform rofl and 5-15 mph gust I'll take it

I mean technically it could come down .05 to .1 mil (shooting at center of orange dot) but I'm going to leave it be cause it's got the built in zero stop.

Top one was me and a wobbly truck bang

How do you like the glass? You had a PST on it before right?

Nice setup. I must not be part of "most of y'all" because that appears to be a great group to me. You could probably hit a package left at your gate by USPS with that rig.

Nice shooting east. I've had a few that needed little adjustment but not that lucky.

night and day bud, at least to me. I mean there is nothing wrong with the PST and I put it on my 6.8 for now. But for long range I think the XTR is a winner for the money

Not lying I was certainly shocked. And I think it was only like .8 mil right

here is the kicker tho, I left my torque at work and didn't use locktite so it won't last long bang

Took it to range, which was dread. Shot 3, made two click adjustment and went home.

With sorry groups like that you should sell it. I wouldn't risk hunting with it.

I'll give you a crisp new hunnit dollar bill to relieve you of that mess.

The zero stop is reset-able so you can adjust it to be exact & then reset the zero stop.

If you read the directions it's very easy, just FYI. I'll be sighting in my 4-20 XTR II next week. Really looking forward to using it as it's the most expensive scope I've ever owned.

I already did it for windage. But with that group why do it for elevation. That thing is less or even to .1 mil

Can't bitch about that out of the box

One time my wife bought a scope for me at Johnny's Hardware in Harlingen Texas, as a gift. The counter guy installed it for her, there in the store.

The next morning she proudly showed me the rifle with the scope already installed, and I was thinking, "No telling where that thing is looking" - but to my surprise, it turned out to be almost perfect at 100 yards. The screws were all torqued correctly, too.

If something like that ever happens again, I'm buying a lottery ticket.

From your pictures, I can't figure out which I like better, the scope or the rifle. Looks good.

When East posts up "what are the odds?" you just have to look as it could go anywhere!

Nice shooting, especially out of a pickup bed. I bet that tightens up a bit on a solid platform.
