300 yard rifle range

Does anyone know of a public 300 yard range in the north Houston area? Thunder Gun Range has closed their 300 yard range.

American Shooting Centers, Wertheimer @ Hwy 6 (I think), used to be a great range.

Not exactly but very close. It's off a street called Westhiemer park way. It is in the middle of George bush park. It has 2, 3, 4, 600 yard ranges. Don't know if they still require it but u have to qualify to shoot past 300. It's just 3/5 shots at a 6" circle at 300 yards. Not difficult at all. If it s dry enough they even let u drive on the range.

Been interested in visiting American shooting center. How busy are the 200-300 yard ranges on the weekend? Do they have good benches?

Are they public? Their web site mentions memberships.

They r public. U can buy an annual membership and pay less per trip, but u don't have to have a membership to shoot. The vast majority of people don't, I don't and I've been going there since I moved to Houston 10 years ago.
