Ruger Precision Rifle - 08/14/16 05:35 AM

Just revisited the G&A article that first introduced me to this new-ish gun.
What are y'alls thoughts on it?

I dunno about it except that it looks cool and seems a bit heavy for hunting. confused2
Online reviews say that it's a shooter, as did the magazine article.

It is a shooter, and it is heavy. It just depends on your intended purposes. It wouldn't be my go to for a dedicated hunting rifle unless you didn't have to do much moving around. I've got the 6.5 CM, and it's stupid accurate. Lot of gun for the money if that's the type of rifle you're after.

Go ahead and step up to the Colt. Halfway kidding wink The Ruger is a nice gun for the money.
The Colt is the real deal but is too heavy for serious hunting IMO although I have killed 2 elk and made the shot of a lifetime on a running boar hog with it.

Mine has a Vortex Razor on top just too make sure it's plenty heavy. grin

I watched thru the spotting scope while my son used it to put 4 shots at 1000 into the center of a full size IPSC
Steel target then on the 5th head shot so it's capable for sure.

Great rifle that is very capable. A ten pound rifle is labeled "heavy" by some, and it called a medium weight rifle by others. A customer brought one to my range, and it did a great job all day long.
