I did it all by myself. The rib and trigger guard are from Heritage Arms. You would not be able to install a rib on a Mohawk as it does not have the required lugs welded to the barrel. The trigger guard would fit and the reason for it is that a lot of the plastic guards used on these rifles is warped because of the spring pressure acting against cartridge stored in the magazine. This can usually be seen when the magazine is loaded.
Without the rib, a scout mount is not available. What I really wanted was to use an XS Sight Systems Ghost Ring and that only fits the Mohawk, not the 600.
The Timney Trigger is readily available online. If your trigger does not have the "V" stamped on the left side, you should
send it back to Remington. The recall is still valid, a fellow I know just sent a 600 back in and the turn time was about two weeks. The trigger on my rifle was broken but I wanted the adjustable Timney so it did not bother me.
I hunt with mine on a regular basis, I took this 7½ year old 8 point on the Chaparral WMA in January with my 35 Rem.
