He is a local guy that builds rifles for a few friends and for himself for rifle competitions, just a little hobby he does on the side. My other smith is Score High Gunsmithing, and did excellent work on my 6.5 x 284, 7 Mag, 7 STW. He is currently converting my 7 STW, which is going out of popularity because of lack of good brass, into a .300 Win Mag. Check out these pics of a few groups I made. I recommend Score High, his name is Charley Robertson out of New Mexico. First pic is a 5 shot group at 600 yards with the 6.5 x 284 on a steel plate with 15 mph crosswind, see how the wind spreads it out horizontally a little, but vertically its perfect. Wished wind was lower to see the outcome of it and the 2nd pic was at 200 yards ( no kidding ) with one foul shot when I cleaned the barrel, and 4 in one hole with the 6.5 x 284. Load was 123 gr. Sierra Match on 52.5 grains of H4831 SC on turned Lapua brass. The 3rd pic is just my 7 Mag Sako 26 inch Brux barrel, hunting rifle with 3 shot group at 100 with 140 Accubonds and 68 grains RL 19.
Just waiting for the GAP .308 with Crusader action, 6 BR and .300 Win Mag. Those three will have a turn around of about 6 more months.
