Remington 700 SA Follower?

Remington 700 SA Follower? - 04/21/16 05:41 PM

Is the short action follower the same for all SA calibers or are they caliber specific?

I am converting my ADL to BDL. I found a short action trigger guard, floor plate and magazine box from a .308 for pretty cheap. Will it feed properly on a .223 or do I need a different setup?

If so, is the original follower from the ADL removable where I could just stick it on the new BDL magazine spring?

A 223 follower will not work on a 308. I accidentally used the hinge plate and follower from a 223 when I had my Creedmoor built. It was a no go and had to be replaced with a 308 style follower.

Coach, I converted ADL to BDL a couple years ago and quickly realized detachable mags are the way to go and changed again.... You might consider going that route in the first place, but it is a bit more expensive.
