Here's a new build I just got back from Gene Williams in Princeton... For anyone considering a custom, I would highly recommend him. He will deliver you a 1-holer!

Rem 700 SA Receiver,
Bartlein barrel S/S, #3, 4 grooves, 11 twist 25" long
Rem Aluminum SA bottom metal
Jewell RHVR Trigger (set at 1#)
Custom Muzzle break
H-S Precision stock PSS003
Glass bead finish on barrel
Epoxy Bead finish barrel action
Seekins Rings
Nightforce NXS 5.5-24x56

That's spot on what I'm looking for, weight is perfect! I'll be using a slightly lighter stock, 3b barrel finished at 24 with fluting, and either a Nightforce or Burris optic both of which are around 30-32oz

You don't need a 24" plus his is a #3 not a 3b. You're going to build s toad of a gun for no gain other than having a heavier than necessary toad.

Every gunsmith including your recommendation said to use the 3b and keep it at 24. This is why I buy them already built, lol

Gene has built 6 rifles for me and is currently building me a 9mm 1911. You will be pleased for years
