looking at my first suppressor, and this one seems to fit the bill quite nicely. does anyone know a good place to purchase? or a group buy, or any feedback in general. Rays hardware was nice and helpful, but they wanted $300-$400 over MSRP...

What does the hybrid do that makes it a 'hybrid'? I'm just curious. I have an Omega, but was wondering if there were other features in the hybrid that make it more versatile or something.

Hybrid is full auto and magnum rated and will do 5.56 up to .338 and .458 calibers, pistol, rifle, or sub machine gun.

9mm-45-70. so multi cal. titanium and rated for full auto

Also take a look at the Griffin Optimus if you are interested in a "one size fits all" can. The Optimus is rated up to .300 WM (Can't handle the big bores like the Hybrid can), but you can shoot .22 LR through it, which the Hybrid can't do. IMO, there are a lot more guys who would utilize the ability to shoot .22 LR than those who would be shooting .45-70 suppressed.

I'm waiting on a form 3 to get mine to my dealer so I can play with it. But here's what I know:

Basically, it's able to run pretty much anything you want it to, with the exception of .50s and .22s. I plan to use mine on my 5.56 & 6.8 SBRs, as well as my 6.5 CM and Glock 17. Depending on what I pick up in the future, I'm confident that I'll be able to use the Hybrid. A comparable can that's able to run big bore and magnum calibers is the SiCo Harvester. It's ~$200 more expensive, 2" longer, and over a half pound heavier. Since the hybrid is made out of more durable materials than stainless steel, they were able to cut down on the size and weight.

But as awesome as it is to have a do-all can, it's also going to have its disadvantages. "Jack of all trades, master of none" definitely applies here. In order to run it on all these different guns, it requires you to purchase a bunch of peripherals. It only comes with a .46 endcap, and a 5/8x24 direct thread mount. To shoot it on a pistol, you have to buy a piston for that particular caliber and thread pitch ($60?). If you want to run it on different guns, you'll need to buy the QD mount and muzzle brakes ($150 and $75, respectively). Furthermore, if you want the best suppression, you'll need to purchase appropriate endcaps for every caliber ($60 each?). Running it on a pistol won't be that great, since it's got a larger diameter than most pistol cans, meaning that your sights will be more obscured than usual.

But for me, the ability to suppress pretty much anything I will own (except .22s) is enough to outweigh the negatives. If it works great on my ARs and 6.5CM, I'll be more than satisfied with it. I was planning on purchasing an Omega, but this was announced right as I was getting the cash together. I don't see any reason to buy the Omega now when this is available.

I'm kind of wishing that I had gone with the Griffin, but my dealer didn't know if he'd be able to get one when I was ready to go. Because of the paperwork times, I wanted to get on it ASAP.

Guess I'll just have to buy a dedicated .22 can soon.
