More moving parts means more things that can break. I have seen them fail! As stated above go with what is proven.

I've got a couple JP silent captured springs and the difference is amazing.

Right there! I tried one and immediately changed all mine to captive JP Springs. AR10's too.

What do they do different?
They reduce felt recoil and the mechanical noise of a rifle. Work very well when running suppressed to cut down on noise.
