Remington R25 in .243 - 09/01/15 02:38 AM

I just acquired this rifle, just wanting some feedback on it. I'm not even sure Ill keep it or even shoot it for that matter. So, what are your opinions.

Will do dogdown! Ive got two other rifles that see all of the action. This one would just collect dust.

It's the same as a DPMS lr lite model . They are a great gun . Very accurate with a nice two stage trigger I've killed a bunch of hogs and other vermin with my DPMS lr 243 lite.

Is this the original R25 or the new G2 series? The G2 is a bunch lighter. A G2 in 243 or 7mm-08 is on the wish list.

I agree, you need a new bolt gun.

DPMS long range lite weighs 10.25 pounds
DPMS lite weighs 8 pounds
Remington R25 weighs 8.75 pounds
Remington R25 GII weighs 7 pounds

The Remington R25 uses different handguards and gas block than the DPMS lite rifles. The Remington has the camo coatings. There are lots of positive reviews for accuracy in these rifles. Especially if triggers are changed.

I was also split between the R25 and a 243 bolt gun. I jumped on an excellent deal for a new Tikka stainless T3 lite, and decided the R25 can wait for a little while.

I have a DPMS LR-260H,it is a fantastic rifle.I set it up for hog hunting and it does the job.
It is also very accurate,I hand load for every gun I own and the LR-260H loves to shoot 140 grain Sierra Gamekings. It consistently shoots sub-moa groups at 100 yards, and I've shot several 1.5"-2.0" groups at 500 yards with it.

I'd say keep the R25,and find out what it likes to eat.You may be very surprised with it's accuracy.

The only things that I've changed on my DPMS is the buttstock and the trigger. The rest is factory DPMS.
