Maxus owners?...need assistance!

I finally decided to clean my Maxus. After taking the bolt and trigger assembly out I started to wipe out the receiver and noticed a little clip laying in there.
I looked up the part and it's the Carrier Latch Pin Clip (#22 on their breakdown). Even looking at the schematics I can't figure out where this little dude goes.

Does anyone know where it goes or possible look on theirs and show me where it goes?

How long has it been since all cleaned up? Maybe after cleaned you can find the pin the clip would go to.

I've never broken it down to clean it. First time.

It did recently come back from Browning and they said everything was fine. All they did was separate the barrel from the receiver and check everything out. That's a whole different story and it's not on Browning.

I'm thinking it could go here where the red arrow points. Can anyone verify?

The carrier latch is inside your receiver. It's the thing the button operates to let your bolt close. That clip goes in a pin that the latch swivels on.

Is that pin the one with the red arrow pointing toward it?

Just sell it, get an SBE2, problem solved.

That groove is where it goes, make sure the clip opening faces towards the magazine, that way when you load a shell, it is less likely to snag the clip and push it off the pin.

The fun part will be trying to get it back on/in there.


Anyone know which side goes in toward the bolt/carrier?

I don't know where that pin goes. There has got to be a utube video on it. I had issues with my maxus. Then it was stolen out of my truck about a month ago as I was preparing to send it back to browning, for a 4th time in 5 years. Problem solved.

Wow. Only problem I have ever had was not being able to get the barrel off. Thus I couldn't really clean it but an occasional light coat of oil on the spring was all that was ever needed.

That is the only problem I have ever had as well. Ended up being build up behind the oring near the gas ports.

How'd you end up getting yours apart?

Mine involved a local gun store, the ATF and Browning.

A well qualified smith with a big nylon/rubber hammer and a vice.
